Willow Springs

This stage of the Chicago Time Trial Series may be the best. It is two trips around a 15K triangle through 90% forest preserve. Nearly 80 percent of the roads have been repaved in the past two years and is perfectly smooth. Much of the scenery is like going through a forest with no houses or driveways to worry about. Only the section of Archer Avenue near the start/finish line does civilization make itself know. It will be hard to believe you are time trialing within 5 miles of the Chicago city limits!

What will make this particular event really special is it has the biggest hill of any time trial in Illinois this year. This race will help to establish bragging rights to the best hill climber in Illinois by awarding points towards our hill climbing jersey. Timing will be done at the bottom and at the top of the approximately 1.5K long 6% grade hill and we'll know for a fact who can lay claim to being the mountain goat of Illinois. Will racers give it their all for the climb? Or will they save some for the best overall time? Or perhaps someone will be able to walk away with both the top hill climb points and the best time. We've made time trialing interesting once again!

Family FUN!!

"Wow, I pre-rode the course today and felt it is my favorite course I have ever ridden on. The roads remind me of The State of Washington…trees and canopies. Other than Falvin, the roads are smoooooooth!"

-Quote from a race favorite.

Two things for the family to do while you race. Ride the paved I&M Canal Trail right at registration which has fantastic history and eat as SMA's Hot Dog Stand right on the race course.

Results have FOUR timing points. Two times up the hill, a 15K split, and the total time.

Registration opens from 7:30am to 9:30am day of the race.

There are a few starting times open from 9:30-9:45am for those who ask for them on a first come first serve basis.
